I was approached, along with my good photogrpahy buddy Elias by our talented cosplay friend K to help her out with a special photo shoot. K was invited to submit a photo to be used in an upcoming international cosplay calendar.

The shot had to be epic, and it had to stand out as something unique and original. K was using one of her earlier epic costumes, Final Form Sora from Kingdom Hearts 2. The three of us looked up reference pics, brainstormed ideas and searched for locations. It was a true creative colaboration.

On the night we had a few very specific ideas we wanted to execute, and spend the whole shoot getting those few ideas exactly right. The total number of photos between Elias and I was small, but the results were something beyond what either of us have done before.

This particular shot was taken almost directly under the Bolte Bridge. The sparks would have been highly visible to about half of the Melbourne CBD. We cleared out of there not long after getting this shot. We didn't want the authorities turning up and asking what we were doing to the bridge. After all, we had tripods - that means we must be terrorists planning an attack *eyeroll*


We are all thrilled with the results!! We hope you like them too. We will be posting the best photos between us over the next few days. The photo selected for the calendar will be posted to K's DA page once the calendar is released :D
